Southwest Minnesota Regional Sports Center is a 77,800 square foot new regional event center that includes the Red Baron Arena & Expo which is comprised of two indoor ice sheets (multi-purpose for exhibitions, various sports, etc.), ten team locker rooms , two meeting rooms, ‘Club Room’, and seating for approximately 1,400 spectators.
The sports center complex also includes four natural turf baseball fields with field lights, an elevated observation area, and a concessions building designed by ATSR.
WCCO Channel 4 ran a public survey poll – the Red Baron Arena & Expo was voted ‘Best Arena in the State of Hockey’.
ATSR supplemented the Minnesota State Legislative Pre-Design Manual submittal, providing renderings, building and site plans, project cost estimates, and schedules. The manual was approved for funding by the State Legislature. Additionally, ATSR designed this project to meet the Minnesota Statute requirements including B3 Sustainable Guidelines protocol.
