New Stillson Elementary School
Building Tomorrow’s Learning While Saving on Today’s Budget
ATSR partnered with Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District to create Stillson Elementary, a high-performance school that puts students at the center of everything. Through comprehensive master planning and strategic design, we delivered a facility that saves the District $300,000 over 10 years while creating an inspiring place for children to learn and grow.
Stillson Elementary celebrates “future-ready” education with technology seamlessly integrated throughout the building. Flexible classroom clusters feature dedicated breakout spaces that encourage project-based learning and collaboration, giving teachers the tools they need to engage every student.
The design creates strong visual connections to nature while maximizing natural daylight, creating bright, welcoming spaces that support both learning and well-being.
Smart Investment, Lasting Impact
Working with state energy programs, we engineered sustainability features that deliver real savings. High-performance windows, LED lighting with automatic dimming, and advanced HVAC systems with heat recovery reduce operating costs while creating comfortable learning environments year-round.
The site design minimizes environmental impact through on-site water infiltration, bio-retention basins, and limited paved surfaces. These features reduce long-term maintenance costs while providing outdoor learning opportunities.
Every system in Stillson Elementary exceeds energy code requirements, positioning the District to meet 2030 sustainability goals while protecting taxpayers from rising utility costs. Local materials and labor kept construction costs manageable while supporting the regional economy.
The result is a school that serves students, teachers, and the community for generations to come – proving that smart design creates value far beyond the initial investment.
